Introduction Letter
Thank you for visiting our website! We are glad you stopped by. We, the Dove family, are missionaries reaching the Latin World for Christ in Costa Rica.
We hope you will enjoy looking at our site and learning more about us. Our site has information about our ministry. Our brochure will give you further background information about us and what we believe the Lord has called us to do. Also, feel free to browse through our pictures and take a look at the wonderful people with whom the Lord has allowed us to work.
Our ministry goals are evangelism, discipleship, church planting and training nationals. Please pray that the Lord would allow us to accomplish these goals and pray with us for the great need in Costa Rica. We are praying that more people would be called to this needy land.
Our Experience: In 1995, we began our work among the Hispanic people by serving in the Hispanic ministry of our sending church. We received valuable training serving there from 1995-1998.
Believing God called us to full-time missions, we joined Baptist International Missions, Inc. (BIMI) in 1998. After finishing deputation and language school, we served as home missionaries in the U.S. We planted the Abundant Life Baptist Church (a Spanish-speaking church) in Monroe, North Carolina. During our time in Monroe, we established a Sunday school program, started weekly soulwinning, began teen meetings, and held monthly ladies’ and men’s fellowships. We also had monthly family activities. We established a discipleship program to teach new converts the basic doctrines of the faith, and started a Bible Institute to train men for full-time service. With the church established and prospering, God led us to turn the church over to a national pastor. The church is still going under the leadership of a national pastor.
After turning the Monroe church over, God burdened our hearts for the country of Costa Rica. After much prayer and seeking God’s leading, we answered God’s call to become foreign missionaries to Costa Rica. We arrived in Costa Rica in 2008 where our family immediately began serving the Lord. During our first year there, we worked alongside the national pastor of a growing church in Escazú, serving in whatever capacity we were needed. For the last two years we ministered in San Rafael de Heredia helping establish a new work. We have been busy soulwinning, discipling new converts, teaching Sunday school, establishing a missions program, and preaching.
